How to enhance system?
I’m running 6X9 Pioneers in the rear. Blue kind. 80W RMS 4 way. I turned the fader to rear and i noticed it rattles alot with just power to the rear. the front is all stock. but it beats nicely. Um I have the pioneer deh-p6400 in the rear. Can i get an ipod connection for it? and how hard would it
What subs are nice for rap. i like sound quality yet i wanna be heard. dont want the bass to completely over power the speakers. its going in a honda accord trunk. should i get components if i am only keeping this car for a year or 2. im a teen.

put weatherstripping inbetween your 6×9s and the trunk’s metal. You should put some dynamat or other dampening material on the actual metal the speakers are mounted in, or you can go with the cheap alternative, peal and seal, a roofing material you get a home depot, or your local equivalent. The surface these are mounted in very important. If it’s not rigid enough(in hondas it NEVER is) then the backwave from the speakers will cancel out the sound and you will get distortion as well as rattling. Dynamat will not get rid of rattling. It will, but it’s not designed for that. You can put weather stripping or a bead of silicone caulk between your speakers and their mounting surface for that. With 6×9s you might wanna put them in boxes. The easiest way to do this is go to walmart and get some 6×9 boxes. They’re easy to put together but don’t seal well, so you’ll wanna get some silicone caulk and put a bead of it in every corner, as well as around the terminal cup. You can stuff the boxes with polyfill or carpet and if you’re really creative turn them into bandpass(ported) boxes with some pvc pipe and fittings. You’d have to do some math with this and it might not be for you if you’re not really sure if your math ablilties and you don’t want to go through the trial and error process to see what works and what doesn’t.
For subs, you should go with 10s or 12s. 10s usually provide better sound quality, while 12s can be louder. A bandpass box(properly built and tuned of course) will be the best way to get the most out of your subs, although bandpass boxes, when built incorrectly will not work well at all. Badly built bandpass boxes are the kinds that cause distorted farting bass. You can go to walmart and get some 10″ closed sub boxes for about 20 bucks a pop. You can seal them with silicone. They’re pretty rigid so you don’t need to worry much about your subs flexing the box unless you’re gonna be putting 3000 watts into a single 10″ sub. Like with the 6×9 boxes you can turn them into bandpass boxes with a little work and research.
My system right now cost me all of 300 bucks and it bumps really well, mainly because I did the math and the research, as well as experimented a lot. I have 3 10s, a 200 watt amp on each(600 watts total) 3 separate boxes for each of them. They’re mounted in the back of the trunk facing into the cab, instead of up against the back seat facing out of the trunk. This way, you can open the back seats and the trunk serves as a quarter wave resonator of sorts. It kills your trunk space unfortunately. I also put carpet in the insides of the boxes. This slows the back wave down when it hits the back of the box, making your sound clear and louder since the backwave isn’t as strong. Backwaves cancel out the real sound btw.
